The Marvel Gay Duo That Permanently Shifted X-Men Legend
The most famous LGBT pair in Marvel history is Destiny and Mystique. The duo, who would stop at nothing to save each other, even if it meant destroying the universe, swiftly rose to prominence in the X-men Krakoan Age.
The moment Raven was finally permitted to name Irene her wife, which is considered their canonical event, was one of the couple’s many memorable moments. But, the couple recently made history that could alter X-Men mythology by proving that Nightcrawler’s biological parents are Destiny and Mystique.
The revelation that Marvel’s well-known LGBT couple is Nightcrawler’s biological parents is nothing short of historic, as it delves deeply into their personas while tackling contentious storylines. There is also mention of Azazel’s convoluted origins as Nightcrawler’s demonic father. Additionally, Xavier altered Destiny and Mystique’s memories, leading Raven to believe that she was a heartless baby killer. This has given Mystique the opportunity to move past her painful past and recover.
Regretfully, it also comes to light that Destiny tricked Mystique into becoming pregnant with Kurt in order to use Nightcrawler as a tragic instrument of fate to thwart his father Azazel’s schemes for global dominance. Kurt’s mother(s) loved him regardless of his background, even though Destiny had to sacrifice him.
One of the most powerful couples is Destiny and Mystique, who have been together for millennia despite being apart several times over the years. Nevertheless, the lovers’ destiny is not very favorable in the present era. Irene, along with many of Krakoa’s banished mutants, is stuck in the White Hot Room in the most recent issue of “X-Men #17.” Mother Righteous had just stabbed Irene. Somehow, destiny will come back to rejoin Mystique and their Nightcrawler.
Now that the actual parentage of Nightcrawler has been revealed, Destiny and Mystique are finally receiving the attention they so richly deserve. The core plot is around the complicated and tragic relationship shared by the well-known LGBT couple. But as of now, their future is still undetermined.
