Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(NSE: ONGC), the country’s leading company in the oil and gas sector, has released its December quarter results.
Compared to the year before the company has experienced decreases in both revenue and profits for the quarters of the business.
During the quarter, the company reported a decline in the production of both oil and gas as compared to last year.
In addition to the numbers in the report, the company has made public the dividend for the second quarter.
The results have been released late on Saturday night.
How Were The Quarterly Results?
According to the information given by the company, the consolidated profit in the December quarter has declined by 7.9 percent compared to last year to Rs 10748 crore.
However, the total profit for the first three quarters of the financial year increased by 65 percent to Rs 44685 crore as compared to the same period last year.
According to the company, the total consolidated income of the company in the third quarter was Rs 1,65,569 crore,
which is 2.2 percent less as compared to Rs 1,69,213 crore in the third quarter of last year. The overall income in the three first quarters was 8.5 percent, compared to the same period in the previous year.
How Was Business
The company has reported a decline in its production on a year-on-year basis.
The total crude oil production of the company was 5.219 MMT which was 3.3 percent less than last year.
Whereas gas production was 5.125 BCM with a decline of 4.3 percent compared to last year.
Declaration Of Dividend
Along with the quarterly results, ONGC has announced a dividend of Rs 4 per share to its investors, which is the second interim dividend distributed for this financial year.
The company is expected to spend the sum of Rs 5032 crore for dividends. The date of the record for dividends has been set at 17 February 2024.
ONGC had earlier given a dividend of Rs 5.75 per share to its investors in November 2023.
That means in the current financial year the company has announced to give a total dividend of Rs 9.75 per share to the investors.
In the Monday morning trading session, the price was Rs 261.40 a decrease of 2.32 percent.
