Jamie Dornan Says He Kissed A Horse On A TV Set Despite Being Highly Allergic. Here’s The Horror That Followed

Jamie Dornan, who is well-known for his part in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film series, recently told a hilarious and embarrassing story about having to kiss a horse for a photo shoot. The actor finds it extremely challenging to perform because of his “highly allergic” reaction to animals.

The Irish actor has already told other instances on “The Graham Norton Show” that involved kissing on site. However, this one is unique mostly because it features an animal kiss, but also because of what transpired with Dornan thereafter.

Although Jamie Dornan claims to be allergic, he likes animals.

The 41-year-old actor explained that, although not having an issue with animals, he is afraid of them because of certain regrettable allergies. He remarked, “I like them as a species, I just can’t get close.”

He thought back to the first time he had to kiss a horse, before he knew anything about his allergy. His role in “Marie Antoinette” prompted him to spend a lot of time with horses and to even kiss one of them during production in 2006.

He claimed that following the shoot, he experienced an intense reaction because his allergies had not yet been identified. The event almost put the movie’s insurance coverage in jeopardy, and he had to respond with top EpiPens.

“Count Axel Fersen, my character, had to ride a horse for the majority of the film.And I forgot it had been a while since I’d been around horses,” he remarked.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actor said, “So I’m trotting around this place…,” adding that he had received training in horseback riding prior to beginning filming. then one of the runners’ faces just appeared [startled] at the back,” he remarked. Recalling the terror, he stated, “I was itchy, and my whole face had become a giant hive.”

Jamie Dornan was thereafter properly medicated whenever he had to be in close proximity to a horse for a shot. He joked, “So if you see me on a horse, I’m very heavily medicated.”

Six years later, the actor faced the same situation again — this time out of an emotional judgment rather than a necessity. On the last day of shooting the 2012 historical drama ‘New Worlds’, Dornan said he wanted to bid a proper goodbye to the horse he was assigned during the filming.

“I really liked the horse I had. And I thought, ‘It’s the final day. You know what? I love this horse.’ So I gave her a kiss on the lips,” he said. “I went, ‘You know what, we’re nearly over. I have half a day left.’ The horse was picture-wrapped. So I gave it a kiss,” he added.

The gesture, however, did not end well for Dornan. “And then my lips absolutely blew up,” he said, declaring that the shooting for the day had to be suspended because of that.

In another rather sweet kissing confession, Dornan last year revealed that he kissed a photo of his teenage celebrity crush, Liv Tyler, every night before bed. He was playing the game of ‘Never Have I Ever‘ with ‘Belfast’ co-star Caitríona Balfe.

“I had a black-and-white picture of Liv Tyler by my bed and I used to kiss it every night before I went to bed,” Dornan said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “And when I was in New York I met her, my friend knew this and said, ‘Jamie, did you tell Liv about that time?’ And I had to tell Liv Tyler to her face that I used to kiss a black-and-white picture of her every night.”
