Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill inactive vs. Jets ,Florida’s Miami Gardens — Tyreek Hill, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, will not play against the New York Jets on Sunday. This means that the team will be without its most potent weapon in a crucial divisional matchup.
After hurting his ankle in the first quarter of Monday’s Dolphins game against the Tennessee Titans, Hill was only able to play in 47% of the team’s offensive plays, which is a season low. Hill was able to go back, but he acknowledged that he was in a lot of discomfort and could not cut or change course as he usually could.
This week, the Dolphins held three sessions, but the top receiver in the NFL did not show up. Coach Mike McDaniel of Miami stated that he would let Hill decide when he was available, provided that the team’s medical trainers gave their approval.
Following the pregame warm-ups, it was decided to give Hill this week off.
Since being moved from the Kansas City Chiefs to Miami during the 2022 offseason, this will be the first game that Hill has missed. His absence on Sunday will be difficult for the Dolphins, who are trying to win the AFC East for the first time since 2008. Miami’s magic number to win the division with a victory over the Jets and a defeat by the Buffalo Bills to the Dallas Cowboys would be just one.
His absence Sunday puts his pursuit of the single-season NFL receiving yards record in jeopardy. Hill is also within striking distance of eclipsing 2,000 receiving yards in a single season for the first time in NFL history
