With the casting of Nicholas Hoult in November 2023, Gunn’s pursuit of Lex Luthor—one of the deadly adversaries the Justice League was keeping an eye on—came to an end.

In the middle of all of this, Gunn shared an interesting update on “The Brave and the Bold” and “Superman Legacy.”

James Gunn, the director of DC, gave an interesting update on “Superman: Legacy” in response to a fan’s query during a Q&A session with the fans on Threads.

“What percentage are you at with the Superman Legacy script?” the fan inquired. In response, Gunn said, “99.9%.” He continued, “I’m always making little changes, but it’s basically been done since long before the strike.”

Gunn previously addressed the speculation on Threads regarding Jensen Ackles’ purported portrayal of Batman in “The Brave and the Bold.” But Gunn promptly shot back, refuting those claims with, “Ofc it’s false and there’s no script yet.”

As for ‘Superman Legacy’ David Corenswet will play the titular Clark Kent, along with Nicholas Hoult taking up the mantle of Lex Luthor. Rachel Brosnahan will be playing the role of Lois Lane, and María Gabriela de Faría will play another villain, The Engineer.
