For the third quarter ending, LIC Housing Finance NSE: LICHSGFIN announced its results on December 31st, 2023. Standalone net profit increased by almost two and a half times. The increase was from Rs 480 to Rs 1163 crore.
Similarly, the net interest margin for the quarter increased to 3% from 2.4% earlier. The net interest income increased by 31% to Rs. 2097 crore.
Its total income for the quarter stood at Rs 5,896 crore, up 15.4% year-on-year at Rs 6,804 crore, while total expenses increased marginally to Rs 5,350 crore from Rs 5,319 crore, resulting in higher profitability.
Net profit margin (the ratio of total revenue to net profit) increased from 10.52 to 18.1% in the same period.
Credit costs can be controlled by improving the quality of assets. Gross non-performing assets fell from 4.76% to 4.26% by the end of last December, compared with 4.76% one year ago. Net NPA stood at 2.24% as against 2.4%.
The outstanding loan portfolio increased by 5% year-on-year to Rs 2.81 lakh crore. The net profit was Rs 1167 crores as opposed to Rs 462 crores.
